In the world we live in, true friendship is rare. Many selfish people forget that happiness is in the selfless love we give to others.

This story is about two true friends. Everything that belonged to one was also of the other; they were appreciated, respected and lived in perfect harmony.

One night one of the friends woke up with a start. He jumped out of bed, hurriedly dressed, and headed for the other's house. Upon arrival, it struck loudly and everyone woke up. The servants opened the door for him, frightened, and he entered the residence. The owner of the house, who was waiting for him with a bag of money in one hand and his sword in the other, said:

- My friend: I know you are not the man to run away in the middle of the night for no reason. If you came to my house it is because something serious is happening to you. If you lost money in the game, here you go, take it. And if you had an altercation and need help to confront those who persecute you, together we will fight. You already know that you can count on me for everything.

The visitor replied:

- I appreciate your generous offers, but I am not here for any of those reasons. I was sleeping peacefully when I dreamed that you were restless and sad, that anguish dominated you and that you needed me by your side. The nightmare worried me and that's why I came to your house at this time. I couldn't be sure you were okay and had to check it out for myself.

This is how a true friend acts. He does not wait for his partner to come to him but, when he supposes that something is happening to him, he runs to offer his help.

Moral: Friendship is that: being attentive to the needs of the other and trying to help solve them, being loyal and generous and sharing not only the joys but also the regrets.
