One of the sweets that are most consumed during Christmas is the polvorón. The most typical are undoubtedly the almond polvorones, but if you add a touch of cinnamon, you will get a very tasty sweet.

Fantastic in teas, desserts or even in some cream, cinnamon provides a unique flavor and it also has many benefits. Among many other things, it helps with digestion. Try incorporating it into Christmas polvorones with this simple recipe.

  • 180 gr of flour
  • 225g butter
  • 180 g of icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt

Tip: You can also toast the flour a little before working with it. 10 minutes is enough in the oven at 170ºC.

1. Mix 60 gr of icing sugar with the butter until it forms a whitish cream. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.

2. Add to the mixture the flour, well sifted, half a teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients. You will get a firm dough.

3. Form balls of about 2 centimeters with your dough and flatten them.

4. In a bowl, mix 120 g of icing sugar with a teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture on the balls that you had prepared.

5. Put your polvorones in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 170ºC.

6. Let them cool and ... enjoy!
